Spray Tanning FAQ

When should I book my spray tan?

Book your tan 1 to 2 days before your event or trip. A tan takes about 24 hours to reach its full development from the time of your appointment, allowing the color to settle evenly and naturally.

How should I prepare for my spray tan?

Exfoliating is the most essential step for a smooth, even tan. A washcloth or loofah does not count as proper exfoliation—use an exfoliating kessa mitt, available for purchase in studio, to remove all dead skin, and any old spray tan or self-tanner the day before your appointment. Shave 24 hours before your appointment and if you wax do it 48 hours before your appointment. Arrive with clean, dry skin and no lotion, deodorant, perfume, or makeup. Get all mani/pedis done at least one day BEFORE your spray tan.

What should I wear to, during, and after my tan?

Wear dark, loose clothing and open-toed shoes. During your session, it is completely up to you—clients can go nude, wear something they bring, or use complimentary disposable thongs and pasties. After your tan, continue wearing loose clothing until your first shower when the solution is rinsed off.

How should I care for my tan after my appointment?

Do not sweat, workout, touch, or get your tan wet before your first shower. Your first shower time depends on the type of tan you choose. Rapid tans can be rinsed after 2 to 6 hours, while Classic tans should stay on for 8 to 12 hours before showering. Avoid exfoliating, shaving, or soaking in pools and hot tubs. With proper care, your tan will last 5 to 7 days.

Will I be orange or splotchy?

No. Our solutions are professional grade and customized to your skin tone, so your results are natural and even. A tan can develop warm if it’s left on longer than the recommended rinse time, or if hormones or certain medications affect how the color develops. Splotchy results are most often caused by improper preparation, dry skin, or using products that are not spray tan safe. Following all prep and aftercare directions will ensure the best results. We can always discuss your goals or any concerns during your appointment to make sure your tan develops evenly and complements your skin tone.

What products should I use after my spray tan?

Use only spray tan safe body washes and lotions to protect your color. Raw Sugar, Native, and Aveeno body washes are safe. Avoid products with alcohol, sulfates, or mineral oils, as they can dry out the skin and cause fading. Dove, Bath and Body Works and other creamy body washes are NOT tan safe and can strip color. Moisturize daily to keep your tan even and long lasting. Our Hydrate Oil and in studio lotions are great for maintaining your tan.

Can I shave after my spray tan?

Yes, but wait at least 24 hours after your appointment before shaving. Use a new razor with a thin or no moisture strip and a gentle body wash instead of shaving cream. Shaving acts as exfoliation and can cause your tan to fade faster.

Can I get a spray tan if I have a sunburn or peeling skin?

No. Tanning over a sunburn or peeling skin will cause uneven color and patching as the skin continues to shed. Wait until your skin is fully healed before booking.

Can I spray tan while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Our solution is vegan, paraben free, and gentle on the skin, but it’s always best to consult with your doctor before booking your session.

Teeth Whitening FAQ

How should I prepare for my teeth whitening appointment?

Eat before your appointment. Do not brush or floss within 6 hours. Stay hydrated before and after your session. For best results, schedule a professional tooth cleaning about one week before your whitening appointment.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes. Our professional-grade whitening gel is enamel safe and designed to gently whiten and brighten your smile without harming your teeth or gums.

How many sessions will I need to reach my desired results?

Most clients need between 1 to 3 sessions to reach their desired brightness. During your appointment, we’ll create an individualized treatment plan based on your goals and level of discoloration.

How long do results last?

Results typically last 3 to 6 months and depend on your oral hygiene, eating habits, and whether you smoke. Brushing regularly and avoiding staining foods and drinks will help your results last longer. We recommend scheduling touch-up treatments every 3 to 6 months to maintain your brightness year-round.

Will my teeth be sensitive after whitening?

Some clients experience mild sensitivity that can last up to 24 hours. Sensitivity is often caused by dehydration, so staying well hydrated before and after your session can help reduce or prevent it. Each session also includes a vitamin treatment that helps protect enamel and minimize sensitivity. If you have known sensitivity, let us know before your appointment so we can take precautions.

Can I whiten if I have dental work?

Yes. Crowns and veneers can be whitened back to their original color but not beyond it. We can safely brighten your natural teeth to blend evenly with your dental work.

How old do I need to be for teeth whitening?

Clients must be at least 16 years old to receive a whitening treatment.

Can I whiten my teeth while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Whitening is generally considered safe, but we advise consulting your doctor before booking if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
